Sa Pa is a small hill station town in Northern Vietnam close to the border of China. It’s best known for the terraced rice fields that cover the Muong Hoa Valley which is located between Sa Pa town and Fansipan Mountain, the tallest peak in all of Vietnam.

 

The town is gorgeously picturesque with buildings inspired by French architecture, local tribes selling handmade goods on the streets, and delicious local cuisine. You can also indulge in luxurious, yet affordable, spa treatments and trek through the rice fields with members of the Hmong tribe, an ethnic minority group that makes up about 50% of the local population.

Night 1: Hanoi - Lao Cai (-)

20.30 – 20.45 we pick up at the meeting point, she will guide you to the train station all the way to your train cabin.

22.00 Train leaves Hanoi to Lao Cai station.

 

Day 1: Lao Cai – Sapa – Lao Chai and Ta Van Villages – Sapa (B/ L/ D)

05.30 Arrive in Lao Cai station, after 38 km from Lao Cai to Sa Pa bout one hour's drive on a scenic route brings to Sapa.

Have breakfast and a morning shower. You can check in early if we have available room otherwise you can leave the luggage at store luggage at your hotel.

Your local Hmong tour guide will meet you after breakfast at around 9 a.m. We'll start our trekking to Lao Chai village and Tavan village (10 -12 kms). This part offers spectacular scenery of the highest part of Hoang Lien Son mountain range and Fanxipan Peak can be seen in a nice day. Crossing the river by a suspension bridge you will challenge your feet uphill to Y Linh Ho village. Here you will visit some H’mong families, watch them doing their daily works. After picnic lunch, the trail continues up and down hill for about 2 hours as you reach to Lao Chai, a large village of the H’mong & then follows the river bank to Ta Van of the Zay people for visiting local homes, village schools, etc. You will enjoy much your cultural discovery of local ethnic peoples as well as breathtaking scenery of the Muong Hoa valley.

15.30 our minivan will come to the main road of the village to pick up you back to Sapa central.

16.00 Arrival back Sapa central, check in hotel.

Have dinner at the restaurant.

Sleep in hotel in Sapa central.


Day 2: Sa Pa - Cat Cat village – Sa Pa - Ha Noi (B/ L)

After freshen up and breakfast in the restaurant, check out and leave the luggage at store luggage at your hotel

09.30  Our guide will come to your hotel to pick up you to walking down to the South-West of Sapa (around 4kms) to visit Catcat village of Black H'mong people. Relax  at  the  food  of  the stunning waterfall  and  the  vestige  of a hydroelectric  power  station  that  was constructed  by the  French  during  the  colonial  time  in  Vietnam.  And then walk up back to Sapa, have lunch and you will free time in the afternoon for leisure or shopping.

15.00 – 15.30 Your Luxury minivan is leaving at our hotel for your depart to Hanoi.

21.00 – 21.30 arriving back your hotel. Tour finishes.

  • We use Sleeping train – Deluxe cabin with 4 beds in 1 cabin for your trip. Besides, we also have VIP cabin with only 2 beds, which is more private. You will pay extra US $30/per person/way.

 

Children Policy:

  • Child under 5 years old: free of charge (maximum is 1 child/room, sharing bed with parents)
  • Children from 5 to fewer than 9 years old are charged 75% the adult’s tour price (sharing room with parents)
  • Children from 9 years old & above will be charged as an adult

 

Things to Bring & To Know

  • Please wear comfortable, warm clothes, Sun hat, rain coat, hiking shoes appropriate and a small daypack with personal belongings for outdoor activities because the weather in Sapa is pretty unpredictable. It is normally cold from Sept to Dec and from Jan to Mar, sometimes foggy in Dec, Jan, Feb and Mar.
  • You should take cash with you in Vietnam Dong because banking system in Sapa sometimes doesn’t function well. US Dollar, Euro, Australia Dollar are accepted in Sapa.
  • Insect repellent and medicine should bring with you although there are some chemist’s shops in Sapa in case you get sick.
  • Homestay’s facilities are not as in hotel in Sapa.
  • Old people, kids should not attend the long trek (9 kms)
